Israel Town Offers 1.2M Dollars for Proof of Mermaid Existence

Located near Haifa, the Israel town of Kirvat Yam decided to attract more tourists by launching a campaign saying that several mermaids were noticed in the region and whoever proves their existence will be awarded $1.2 million.
The campaign was launched after number of reported mermaid sightings were received by the municipality's administration.
According to council spokesman Natti Zilberman, a lot of people reported seeing mermaids and such reports came from different people, independent of each other. These people said that the mermaid had a female figure, and resembled a young girl, reports News.com.au. A lot of tourists are visiting the town by sunset hoping to see a mermaid. It is worth mentioning that people who noticed mermaids reported as seeing them at sunset.
"I believe, if there really is a mermaid, then so many people and tourists will come to Kiryat Yam, a lot more money will be made than a $1m," said the council spokesman.
