Mother Gives Birth to Baby Boy on 8/8/08

A couple from Plymouth, Devon, will probably have the luckiest baby in the world. Their baby boy was born on August 8, 2008 (8/8/08) and weighted 8lb 8oz.

The baby's mother, Sarah Eeells, 26, expected her son to be born on August 12, but it seems that the toddler wanted to see this world four days earlier.

Mrs Eeells said that the child was born shortly after 7pm and she joked that it would really be great for the baby to wait until 8pm.

"It was overwhelming when I had him. My friends thought it was a joke when I told them about all the eights. I should have hung on until 8pm," she said.

It is worth mentioning that number eight is considered to be lucky in People's Republic of China that decided to start the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing on August 8, 2008 at 8pm.

The baby was named Corey and his dad mentioned that it would be really easy to remember family celebrations.

"I was so concerned for Sarah it didn't register until someone mentioned the date. At least I will remember his birthday," he said.

The two work at Specsavers, the place where they met each other two years ago. They even have an eight in their address because the number on the front door in 18.
