Pfizer Announced Free Viagra for the Unemployed Campaign

Share

Pfizer, the pharmaceutical company that produces the popular drug against erectile dysfunction Viagra, announced a new campaign - it plans to give away Viagra to the unemployed for free.

The company launched a catchy line saying "FREE Viagra for the Unemployed" and looks forward to make 70 products absolutely free to United States residents who became unemployed due to economic recession.

Those who has been administering one of the 70 products for a period of at least 3 months and lost their job after January 1, 2009, can apply.

"We all know people who have been laid off recently and have lost their health insurance, making it difficult for them to pay for healthcare," says Jorge Puente, executive at Pfizer.

Still, the campaign is not only for the patients. The company is concerned about the fact that during the economic slowdown, it might lose clients who could switch to less expensive products of the company's rivals, reports New Scientist. It is worth mentioning that some drugs developed by Pfizer face a strong competition against drugs from other companies.

According to market analysts, Pfizer's move to give away Viagra for free during a limited period of time should keep customers loyal to its brand throughout hard times.
