People in the pictures seem to be suspended in the mid air. These are the latest works of Li Wei, an undoubtedly talented performance artist from Beijing, China. For his artworks, he takes advantage of a combination of mirrors, metal wires, scaffolding as well as acrobatics.

The artworks of Li Wei represent a fusion of performance art and photography. Using this combination, the 37-year-old artist is able to make illusions of a dangerous reality. The prices for his works reach $8,000. Li says: "My work and artistic experience are characterized by a unique specificity and particularity."

According to the artist, he uses a universal artistic language to interpret contemporary politics and society. "I am fascinated by the unstable and dangerous sides of art and I hope my works reflect these aspects," he says.

Astonishment is the main reaction of people who see his photographs. Li says that some people consider that his works are filled with humor. You can read more about different artists here at - please check the links at the bottom of the story.
