Artists Creates Replica of Volkswagen Beetle Using 2,805 Pieces of Scrap

This nice-looking Volkswagen Beetle was created by sculptor Haribaabu Naatesan. He made his luminous artwork using 2,805 pieces of scrap, including 800 spark plugs, 200 bottle caps, 60 motherboards.

Among the various components one will also be able to discover audio cassettes, typewriters, pens, and barbeque sticks that the sculptor used to built the replica of the famous vehicle.

It would be interesting to note that Haribaabu Naatesan made the Beetle as part of the Think Blue Campaign initiated by the German carmaker.

Trash was gathered during Think Blue Clean Up drives that Volkswagen undertook at different locations. Then the trash was accurately sorted and assembled.

It took Naatesan his team 16 days to come up with the art piece. It is worth mentioning that the Mumbai-based artist is famous for creating various works using only scrap.

The Think Blue Beetle can be viewed at the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival in Mumbai. Visitors will be able to observe the sculpture until February 12.
