Single Women More Attracted to Married Men, Study Shows

Share

U.S. researchers carried out a study in which they found that married men are more attractive to single women. Such phenomenon was called "mate poaching".

In their study American scientists gathered 100 single and married women who study at the Oklahoma State University and showed them images of the same man asking to rate his attractiveness and say whether they would consider having an affair with him. In some cases the man in the picture was described as married or single. A similar experiment was carried out among men who were shown several pictures of the same woman. The results of the study showed that men were more attracted to a woman when being told she was single, while the opposite was found in women, who seemed to be more attracted to married men. Researchers found that four times as many single women were more interested in the man when told that he was married. But married women were more attracted to the single man. The study and its results were published in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology.

If this is true then why do so many married men/women lie about being married to get in the bed with someone single?
