Japan to Create Mind-Reading Devices Within a Decade

It was announced that Japan looks forward to create "mind-reading" robots and consumer electronics that people will be able to control using their power of mind. What is more interesting is that Japan plans to launch such inventions within a decade.

It was reported that the robots and other electronics of the future will feature brain-machine interface technology. The latter analyzes the brain waves of a person along with brain blood-flow patters that is identified via headset with built-in sensors.

The list of consumer electronics featuring "mind-reading" technology will include TV sets and cell phone that can be operated by simply thinking of an action. A car navigation system that uses the same technology will be able to search for restaurants when the driver thinks about having a meal, reports Yahoo News.

To achieve the goal, the Japanese government teamed up with representatives of the private sector. Among the companies that will take part in the project it is worth mentioning Toyota, Honda and Hitachi. In addition, the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, Osaka University and the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International also showed their interest in the revolutionary idea.
