Latest Invention: EEG System Connected to Smartphone for Brain Scanning at Home

If you like this invention, you can vote for it.

A group of scientists from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) managed to come up with a portable electroencephalogram (EEG) system that connects to a Nokia N900 phone.

The device also comes with Emotive EPOS wireless EEG headset and an application developed exclusively for the system.

With this invention the user is able to view a 3D model of their brain presented in a wide range of colors when the brainwaves are detected. It is also possible to rotate the image of the brain by simply swiping the touchscreen of Nokia N900.

It would be interesting to note that users can see the reaction of the brain to videos and images by displaying these on the phone's screen.

For a more detailed analysis if the brain's activity, the system can be connected to a powerful computer.

The invention could help scientists study brain activity outside health institutions, i.e. at home or office for example.

Watch the video after the break to see how the system functions.
