Obese Women Are More Sexually Active Than Slender Ones
According to a new study, overweight women are more sexually active than skinny women. The results of the study ruled out the commonly known stereotype that women with a high body mass index have less sex than slender women.
The study showed that 92 percent of women with high body mass index said they were involved in sexual relationship with a man. In contrast, 87 percent of slender women reported having a history of sexual relationship with a man.
It is worth mentioning that the research was based on information taken from the 2002 National Survey of Family Growth, which analyzed sexual relationships of more than 7,000 women.
The lead researcher, Dr Bliss Kaneshiro, who works as an assistant professor at the University of Hawaii, said that the unexpected results of the study have not yet been examined in detail, which is why "we don't really know why this is the case."
The study also included collecting data on sexual orientation of the participants, age at which they became sexually active, the number of sexual partners and how often the respondents were involved in sexual intercourse, LiveScience reports.
"Our analysis demonstrated that obese and overweight women do not differ significantly in some of the objective measures of sexual behavior compared to women of normal weight," said fellow researcher Marie Harvey, who is also an Oregon State University professor.
Studies carried out earlier showed that obese women became unintentionally pregnant more often than women with a normal mass index. This year, at the annual meeting of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the research led by Dr Bliss Kaneshiro received first prize award.

Id preffer AVERAGE women to be attractive. Skinny is gross, because its mainly bones and skin, and FAT is unnatractive because its only FAT. Average for the win!
