Sex in space

According to a Nasa adviser, Dr Jason Kring, American astronauts must try sex in space if human beings are to settle other planets. He thinks astronauts might take a colleague as a lover during their three-year mission to avoid sexual frustration.

Dr Kring, an assistant professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Florida, suggests the American space agency has to consider the practicalities of sex and pregnancy in space and the spacecraft, meant to return to the Moon after the year 2015, should be designed so that to provide astronauts with enough privacy. The same spacecrafts are expected to fly to Mars in order to establish a permanent manned base in the decade to follow. The professor published his suggestion on Space.com, a website devoted to space issues.

The idea of having sex in space is attracting a great deal of attention. US and Japanese firms First Advantage and Rocketplane Global have already made an announcement that they could hold space weddings for 2.3 million dollars.
