Leonardo DiCaprio Supports Environment Wearing Swiss Wristwatches

Fans of Leonardo DiCaprio are well-aware that he is not only a talented actor but also an environmental activist who offers his support and makes multi-million dollar-donations to efficient environmental organizations, with the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and Green Cross International on the top of the list.

In 2009, DiCaprio joined efforts with the highly-respected Swiss watchmaking brand TAG Heuer and fell in love with its watches. Since then, the brand and the actor have been successfully involved in a number of environmental projects.

The actor wore the TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 Day-Date watch in the brand's advertizing campaign. In the movie Inception, Leonardo wears another TAG Heuer timepiece - the Carrera Automatic.

In 2010, the actor participated in the creation of a new TAG Heuer watch and the Aquaracer 500M Leonardo DiCaprio Limited Edition was born. All the steps made together by the brand and the actor have been aimed at raising funds to support environmental organizations.

New Bugatti-Inspired Wristwatch

Bugatti test driver Pierre-Henri Raphanel, driving at a top speed of 431 km/h at the wheel of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, wears on his wrist the new Parmigiani Fleurier Bugatti Super Sport watch.

The Bugatti car, having established a world land speed record for production sports cars this June and entered the Guinness Book of Records, inspired the unique wristwatch that provides the lateral time display. It allows car drivers instantly read the time without moving one’s wrist.

The heart of the timepiece is a manually-wound movement – the Calibre Parmigiani 372. It provides a power reserve of 10 days.

The 18K white gold construction of the wristwatch incorporates six sapphire crystals protecting 337 components of the timepiece. The display boasts the signature orange color associated with the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport.
