[05 Jun, 2008] Science - It's been happening. With any three towers, the company / govt / scientists can pinpoint and track your location down to a very small area. And, it need not involve you making active calls or texting. Your phone is checking in with the towers periodically, at the least. Newer phones allow ever more trackability, as well. Ever played with Google Maps on your cellphone/smartphone??? Its Google -- not the govt -- and even if your phone doesnt support GPS, they are able to figure out YOUR LOCATION IN REAL TIME within a few blocks using some Google'y calculations they've worked out.. Which is to say, even some dot-com can track you easily enough, even lacking all the access/tools that the telco or govt would have access to...
