It is not only the media and designers that have brought this sad situation about, it is also the general public. To me there is little difference between skinny girls who aren't looking after their bodies and denying their health and those at the other end of the scale who are obese, neither really cares for themselves nor posesses personal pride. Bring back the days of Marilyn Munroes and the like where a womens figure was allowed to be full (but not fat) and curvaceous and maybe there will be a change in public attititude. This is the responsibility of the designers, they initiate the market trends for the masses (lets be fair no-one with any decorum wears some of the freak stuff from the catwalk in real life) and they too can sway the "way" women look and what is acceptable, maybe its just a power thing to be able to make someone want to starve themselves to death just to get a job modelling....very sad !!!!

This lad Dooley clearly knows his stuff as a teacher. What an excellent idea and an excellent lesson for those kids. How lucky they are to have a creative and imaginative exercise like that.

I don't think much of this Holzworth chap though, What on Earth is he doing shooting his mouth off without finding out that the exercise was anti not pro gambling. Sounds like he needs a few lessons with Mr Dooley to square his ideas up.

I believe that survival is an instinct, you either have it or you don't. No amount of training or preparatory thinking can make you react in any other way than that of your survival instincts, however I do believe you can condition what you already have.

Surviving implies adapting yourself to tough conditions, also a good reaction to them and an adequate behaviour too.That's why whining people, complaining about all, will NEVER be survivors. Besides, our world and our life is just a mirror reflecting our thoughts... and even feelings: once we say it is bad and complicated, it will be like this for sure. And viceversa. the world is in a deeeeep hole! and it's not because the stock market has severely suffered, but because all that people can thinl of (including me) is money money money.... all they care is money! how about thinking about making something different, how about not throwing the cigarette or a piece of paper on the street, how about recycling? if there was a survey abou this, I think only 1% of people on earth would be willing to separate paper, plastics, special garbage and glass from other types of garbage for recycling! recycling could someday save our planet, but we think only about having more oil and wealth!!!!
