Www.2007 latest discovery.com
According to www.2007 latest discovery.com, scientists have identified a protein that will provide them with better understanding of APS-1, a rarely met hereditary disease, with the immune system attacking the body's own organs, as well as other autoimmune diseases.
The recently discovered protein, named NALP5, constitutes the target for attacking of the immune system on the parathyroid glands in case of APS-1 disease. The discovery provides the researchers with the opportunity to study more thoroughly the initial phase of autoimmune disorders, with immune cells do not attack alien bacteria and viruses, but, by mistake, attack the body's own tissue. The protein represents a target for the immune cells not only in human beings, but also in animal models for the disease with the same genetic defect as patients suffering from APS-1.
